L’AMANTE INFELICE is RIVA’s solo debut, a psycho-folk exploration recorded entirely on analog tape and deeply inspired by the emotional alienation of Alberto Moravia’s 1943 short story collection of the same name. The record weaves organic electronic landscapes through physical tape phasing, intentional playback desynchronization, and motor speed drift, utilizing discrete stereo separation to achieve a sense of immersive spatial dissonance. Authentic tape saturation and lo-fi synthesis provide a high-grain analog warmth, where hypnotic sequencing meets a raw focus on emotional fragility and the technical noise floor. The project was officially presented at Equipe Nautica in Milan on November 28th with a dedicated ambient set performed using drum machines and rack-mounted reverbs and delays.
